Job Role and Responsibilities
ODILS is a faith-based charity serving those with English as a Second Language. We deliver ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Functional Skills classes as well as train Interpreters and Teachers of English. This role plays an important part in ensuring ODILS can claim the right funding to enrich the learner journey and ensuring the administration related to our learners is delivered to a high standard.
Processing of Admissions paperwork, checking and completing registration forms, course forms and ensuring we have full evidence for all new registrations
Liaising with teachers to ensure all relevant paperwork and on - line systems are completed
Administration of student fees
Maintenance of on - line class lists, registers and on - line submissions
Maintaining up to date filing and archiving of student folders, including Individual Learning Plans
Weekly review of attendance with Admissions and preparation/ submission of amendment forms
Working with Admissions to respond to individual student need, changes of classes etc.
Answering the phone, taking student query referrals from Reception
Dealing with face to face enquiries and working with students on a 1 – 1 basis to obtain and update information
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
Be in sympathy with the Christian values of the school
GCSE grades C in English and Mathematics with high ccompetence in spoken and written English
Minimum 3 years work experience
Excellent keyboard and ICT skills (Microsoft word, Excel, Email and Internet)
Ability to deal with queries in a diplomatic, professional and confidential manner both verbally and in writing
Confident, good communicator who likes working with people
Experience of providing proactive administrative support to others in a team environment
Handling student fees
Organised and ability to use initiative
Able to work under pressure as this role will include will involve working across administration depts. within the school
Able to work in an open plan office environment
To have a flexible approach to work
Be willing to undertake any training in relation to post
Business Admin qualification GCSE/A level or equivalent
Second Language Speaker
Experience of working within cross cultural setting and /or awareness of Refugee, Asylum Seeker and migrant issues
