Yes, Odils can help you access a variety of volunteering opportunities in Plymouth. We have good connections with a lot of different local organisations who are welcoming and supportive to volunteers

Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to practise your English, build your confidence and make friends. Volunteering also provides the opportunity to gain experience, learn new skill and get a reference, which will make it easier to find paid employment when you are ready.

Our dedicated Employment and Integration Mentors will work closely with you to help find a volunteering opportunity. This could be volunteering at local gardens or woodland, in retail and hospitality settings, at community events and more. 

Yes. We don’t run classes to help with driving theory, but you are welcome to ask our employment mentors for guidance on how to access digital resources to practice. Our recommendation is Theory Test Pro for this and it’s free if you’re a member of one of these libraries. 

Yes. If you are interested, and working with one of our mentors, you will have access to a laptop and the chance to improve your computer skills.

You will practice:

• how to turn on a laptop and get on the internet,
• how to sign into your Universal Credit account and send a message to your work coach,
• how to create and update a CV, or
• how to create an Indeed account an apply for jobs.

We can also help you access a variety of Digital Skills courses in Plymouth.

We also have video guides for some tasks on our YouTube channel so you can practice doing things at home!
