First up, the purpose of The Parliamentary Review is to provide a platform from which Parliament can listen and learn. In the words Lord Pickles and Lord Blunkett,

“It is uncommonly crucial that we forge new channels of communication and reinforce existing ones.”

Odils contribution to the review is to highlight Best Practice within our field. Through our years of professional experience and practical knowledge, we are able to relate the realities of working within the ESOL community and charitable sector to Parliament with the hope of policy change. To date, we have taught over 8,000 individuals from 49 different nations.

Through The Parliamentary Review, we believe that those seeking to improve their understanding, learn, and provide sustainability for Asylum Seekers, Refugees, and other minority or ethnic groups will gain insight into the challenges faced and the actions required at a government level to overcome them.

Odils article is hinged around three main topics:

  • Local demographic change:
In 2001 Plymouth was 98.2 percent white British and ill-equipped to embrace the social, economic and practical challenges for which it had responsibility.
  • Strength through cohesion:
We can do more together than apart to enable individuals and communities to reach their full potential and aspirations.
  • A collaborative approach:
Realistic and relevant policies need to be implemented in a way that will work towards the good of the whole country.
